On 3 December, Giving Tuesday is celebrated all over the world. This day aims at rediscovering the value of sharing and to spread the importance of donations as sincere and universal gestures of generosity that unite peoples and cultures.

The principal objective of this initiative is raising awareness of non-profit organizations, institutions, schools and private citizens regarding the culture of donating, encouraging them to participate in projects and charitable initiatives, in order to build a more united society. Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to remind us, even more with the coming of Christmas and its atmosphere of sharing, that the greatest happiness is found in the giving, rather than in the receiving. And that’s how the Christmas gift for your loved ones can become even more special when combined with a donation.

In this spirit of solidarity, Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano is inviting Milanese citizens, old and new donors, and anyone who wishes to contribute tangibly to the protection and conservation of the Cathedral, to support the fundraising projects for the restoration of this extraordinary architectural masterpiece. Every day contributions from donors allow the Veneranda Fabbrica’s specialized workers to undertake extraordinary restoration activities, guaranteeing a unique experience in total safety to worshippers and visitors alike.

“When I finish a job I feel like I have finished a work of art, because I see tourists around me taking photos and admiring the Duomo… And this makes me feel very proud”. Riccardo R. Assistant foreman of Milan Duomo
